Its been awhile and I seem to let time get away from me. We had a great weekend. Lawson had his pinewood derby, he didn't have the fastest car but mom tried her best and he said it was the coolest. We went to Hobby Lobby and I gave him free reign over picking out decor. His car turned out to be a skull/pirate car. Tadd is working in Massachusetts and we are missing him so much! I have been putting my spare time to use though and being healthy and working out and down 9 pounds since the first of the year! I have been attempting to start sewing again, I haven't since my teens but it is something to keep me busy on the weekends the kids are with their dad. Britian has healed wonderfully from her surgery, another set of tubes and tonsils and adenoids removed. She is so tough. When she woke up from surgery she was still groggy and went back to bed, a few hours later she woke up and said where is Tadd? No, where is mom...because mom was there every second...I guess we don't get all the glory. It was hard waking her up every thirty minutes to drink but if I didn't we would have had to stay longer. She is such a trooper. We were lucky enough to have a few snow days this month and the kids and I had a snowball fight. Brrrr that snow is COLD! I am busy planning Britain's 6th birthday where does time go? She is requesting a Build-A-Bear party with her friends. I'm also making her a home cooked meal of her choice her actual birthday weekend and celebrating with family. Lawson talked to my mom on the phone the other night over an hour, he kept telling her joke after joke...I think he is a little comedian in training..he would say "let me pull one more out of my sleeve grandma...They have such a beautiful bond!

Christmas 2010

We had an amazing Christmas this year! We were able to spend a few days in Missippi and visit with Granny and Pop Ivy (Tadd’s grandparents). It was a nine hour drive but the time spent with family was priceless! Lawson really took to Granny and enjoyed helping her in the kitchen!

What an amazing weekend! The family and I couldn't have asked for a better time if we tried. We went to El Dorado, AR for Tadd's mom's ( Becky) annual family Christmas. El Dorado is such a pretty little place with really neat one of a kind boutiques. I def. could see myself spending a day shopping there! The square still has the old fashioned red telephone booths, would be perfect for a photo shoot! Tadd's aunt Karen was gracious enough to host the Christmas celebration weekend in her gorgeous home, we had about 10 people spread out in air mattresses in the living room and all the bedrooms full! She has a lake that the kids got to fish in and four wheelers to ride. The kids had a blast playing with all the other kids. It was really awesome to meet more of Tadd's family and everyone made me feel right at home. We played the annual dirty santa game where everyone brings a gift and you draw numbers and can take from one another. The kids each had gifts from aunt Karen so noone took theirs away, except Becky did steal al ittle boys football. Mike would have been proud! Tadd and I went to chrch with his aunt and uncle and it was such a friendly church. It was nice to be made feel so welcome by all. We also ate WAY too much! There was turkey, ham, duck, fried deer steak and all the fixings. The kids and I are so blessed to become part of such an amazing family with such special traditions!

I forgot the other day Brit said Kindergarten is so easy…ANYONE could do it….well except babies….its SOOOOOOO easy…Brit also told me that only spanish people can speak spanish and can only talk to other spanish people…I shared with her that she can learn any language…to her and Lawson’s response “ We want to learn them all.” AWESOME kiddos!

So the other day I took the kids to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner…Lawson and I shared the salmon ( I love we have the same tastebuds) and as we were leaving Brit said “this place doesn’t give those crackers with the jokes inside?” I’m like what…you mean a fortune cookie..she’s like yeah thats what it is a cracker with a joke….Apparently she likes her fortune cookies.We had a blast trick or treating over the weekend. We went to Bentonville First Baptist Octoberfest then hit up some houses around the neighborhood. The kids had a blast! We even got to trick or treat Miss Becky’s! In the car on the way home the kids were fighting about weather or not they may get a brother or a sister in a few years. Britain wants a sister , Lawson a brother, it got heated until Brit said BOTH. We went to the coolest Halloween party that had a haymaze, hayrides, a haunted trail complete with a guy jumping out with a chainsaw. Brit was Dorothy and Lawson was a witch doctor. I got to enjoy their class parties again this year, nothing beats the excitement on their face when you show up at their school! I wish I had more time to blog….I am forgetting all the funny things the kiddos have done lately :)

Fall Fun

We kicked off the weekend with the cub scout camp out. There were over 1,000 people there…and the people were nice enough to put mirrors in the port o potties for us! Good stuff. I managed to get my tent up rather quickly by myself I might add. Friday night was fun and before bed I told the kids the great legendary tale of ghost Butterworth. This is a ghost story my parents used to tell my brother and I so it was neat to share with them. They really enjoyed it and cuddled me good all night. A kid on each side makes a nice little heater! Saturday morning we had to be up early so we could leave camp and make it to Britain’s last soccer game and Lawson had a double header for baseball. Brit scored multiple goals and was very proud of her medal she earned. Lawson hit twice and did so well he got the game ball! He was SO excited. We headed back to camp and Lawson got to do archery and shoot bb guns, he was thrilled! During flag ceremony they had 5 paratroopers drop down and land right next to us, it was amazing! Lawson said he wants to skydive when he turns 18 but he said I cannot go because he doesn’t want me hurt. Brit was a mini scout and enjoyed playing with all the boys.Saturday night was a big bonfire and we had a great time and finished the night with some stories before falling asleep. Both kids were out within minutes. Sunday morning we took down camp and headed home, camping wore us out! But our weekend wasn’t over yet we headed to Pea Ridge to Mcgarrah Farm’s pumpkin patch and met Missy, Mark and Kennedy. We had a blast even though we got a flat tire…I guess driving in the field at the campout we picked up a twig. No bueno! The patch was AWESOME you actually get to cut your own pumpkin off the stem! There were hay rides and fun for all! To make the weekend even better Tadd started on his way home from New York Sunday night. We had an amazing family night tonight. I love our little family and every minute we are together! Today was picture day and Brit picked her own outfit…Both kids looked adorable! On a funny note Brit kept singing this song its a no no to kiss a whine-o..Im like what?> After a bit I realized she was trying to say Rhino….woosh what a relief :)

Oh my gosh I have been mia and there is so many things I want to remember. I’m going to start out with some Britainisms as I like to call them. The other day Britain looks at me and says I’m the same color as you except this arm right here on me is darker because its my “window arm.” HAHA She said she got that from Tadd. A good Lawsonism happened the other day when he got home from cub scouts he said as he walked in ..”its magic” ..Im like what? Hes like the house is magically clean..I could only wish that we had a cleaning fairy. We have been busy with Lawson’s machine pitch baseball and Britain’s soccer. I also managed to get her into a ballet class and she LOVES it! She is in an advanced calls with second year ballerinas and some even 7 year old. Tadd left for work a few weeks ago and Brit managed to find a dirty shirt of his and she has been sleeping with it and carrying it around making everyone sniff the armpit of the shirt…yum! Lawson is becoming quite the reader and speller. He has an amazing talent for word problems. Who would have thought? :) Britain made up her own joke on the way to school Monday…Lawson why did the chicken cross the road? Lawson’s response “ to get to the other side” Britain “no to get to the other side so he can kick Lawson.” 2010 has been such an amazing year for me and my family. We are so blessed to have one another and to have overcome so much. I cannot wait to become an official family with Tadd and the kids. Britain says that we have to get married because she told me to marry him! :)

We survived another birthday party! Lawson had his 8th Birthday celebration at the Springdale Aquatic Park. He had many good friends join him and everyone loved swimming. Both my kids were jumping off the high dive. What brave children I have! I attempted to make an amazing cake but about 10:00pm Friday night there was a cake mishap...Tadd to the rescue went to Wal-Mart and got me supplies to make a back up cake and when I picked up the kids about 6am and Lawson saw his cake he thought it "rocked." I guess my backup cake wasn't so bad. We had such a wonderful time swimming with everyone. Lawson spent Saturday night at his dad's and his buddy Kaddin spent the night and I heard they played with every present he received! I'm so glad he enjoyed himself and had such great friends to help celebrate his special day. Sunday Tadd and I went to a car show and then hung out at his friend's pool. Not a bad way to wrap up the weekend. On Friday I had the day off and took the kids to school and went to Brit's kindergarten orientation. We found out we got Mrs.. Mueller for a teacher, She is very nice and we are so very glad! I started the morning today off great with picking up the kids about 6:45 and getting the privilege to take them to school. I love that I start work a little later so that I can take them to school every day. I cherish the talks we have in the car in the mornings. Brit didn't went me to walk her into school so I watched and made sure they went into school before leaving..both my babies are so independent, They grow way too quickly.

Thats right today was Lawson's first day of second grade and Miss Britain's first day of Kindergarten...They looked adorable and were excited to go. This morning while the kids were eating breakfast I heard Lawson quizzing Britain....making sure she was ready for school..it was adorable to see how much of a great big brother he is that he wants to help her be ready for her first day. Brit didn't even mind...I on the other hand saved my tears for the car ride to work....Such a magical special day and I feel so blessed I was there for it and got to pick them up and find out the details of their day..first thing Lawson said to me was " I didn't move my stick at all" woohoo ( moving the stick means you got in trouble )

Where do I start there is so many new things to share. Lawson turned 8 years old! Where has the time gone? His newest response to anything now is “Hey I’m just a kid.” We celebrated his birthday with video game shopping a trip to the lake riding the jet skiing and cake. He is having a swim party this weekend. Tadd came home from work the beginning of July and the kids and I were so HAPPY to see him. The fourth of July was a big day for our family. Tadd asked me to marry him on the fourth. We spent a beautiful day on the lake then a BBQ and home made ice cream at the Ivy’s house then fireworks. Tadd and I were sitting next to one another watching the firework show and during the finale I was enjoying the pretty fireworks when I heard “Hey babe..” I look to my side and Tadd isn’t there instead he is on his knee with a ring in his hand and asking me to marry him. I was taken by complete surprise and of course said yes. The kids are very excited they can’t wait for us to be married and be one big happy family. Lawson was amazing during football this year. His last game he made multiple tackles and they announced his name over the loud speaker acknowledging the AWESOME tackle. I was SO very proud of him. Lawson is such a helper and sweet caring soul we are so blessed that he is in our lives. Britain is doing soccer again and finished her first season of tball. She is such a sporty girl. This morning while brushing her teeth she came to me and handed me a tooth. That’s rigt my little girl is losing her baby teeth. She is growing up! Tomorrow is the first day of kindergarten for her and she is ready…me not so much…I am going to try and post more and merge this blog with my new blog as well…

Oh my what fun we have had! The kids and I went to see Tim Mcgraw and The Zak Brown Band last night. Brit played air guitar right along with the band. It was so cute. I think her first concert would have been Collin Ray and Restless Heart last summer. They both really love music. I have started working for an office in Bentonville so that means I can cut my evening and weekend working schedule down. We are ready for summer! The kids and I already hit up the Springdale Aquatic Center on Memorial day FUN!!!!!!!!!! Will post Brit's graduation pics soon! 2010 Coleman's Pre K Grad!

So much has went on…I have been working a lot and playing chauffeur to my two adorable kids I have neglected my blog….Bad me! Lawson had a school play and was a hip hop rapper bunny.

He also had a career day and I managed to make him a
scientist Coble outfit. He also was Dr. Seuss for his famous American presentation so we got to make a cool hat!

I was also lucky enough to be able to help decorate the first grader’s stickhorses. I made camo ones, a captain America one, soccer….so many and of course Lawson and I made him a Rockstar horse he named Hollywood. I turned a year older and had a wonderful birthday with the kids and the ones I love the most. I was quite spoiled actually from flowers to cupcakes to diamonds. I enrolled Brit for Kindergarten this fall. She is growing up too quickly! We had a fun dinner and Easter egg hunt at the Ivy’s. Brit loves Miss Becky’s cake! The stickhorse rodeo was so fun! We got to milk “cows”, a hay ride and so many fun games. Lawson had a blast with all his great friends!

I am so glad I have had so much time with Lawson and his first grade class this year. Lawson earned his wolf badge for cub scouts. We have been having so much fun lately enjoying the nice weather and the front yard. We are ready for SUMMER!

Oh my where to begin? I must say I love this Windows Live Writer for blogs! It makes blogging even more simple. Miss Britain officially turned 5! I can’t believe my baby is 5 already! Where does time go? I will post some pictures from her birthday as well as Lawson’s Valentines party. What a great time we had. I managed to find Hello Kitty cupcakes for Britain to share with her pre K friends. They were adorable! I asked Brit where she wanted to go for her special birthday dinner or if she wanted me to make her something special….all she wanted was a lunchable and sparkling grape juice. We had a mini cake for dessert after gymnastics as a final celebration to a very special day. She is having her birthday party this Saturday at her gymnastics place. She is very excited! I can’t wait to tackle a hello kitty cake! I would love to share more but I am off too pick up Lawson at school and wake Brit up from her nap. I am so blessed to have such an abundance of time with my babies! I love being able to take Lawson and Brit to school every morning!

Surprise Visitor

Last weekend the kids, my mom and I were graced with a special visitor from Washington! My best friend since the tenth grade came to see us! The kids and I had a great time with Aunt Candace. We carved pumpkins and played many fun games! The kids both had games so they got to show Aunt Candace their soccer skills. Lawson is getting over the flu, poor guy had a 102 fever when I took him to the doctor Wednesday. Lawson and I got to stay home together all week and work on getting him better. He was prescribed Tamiflu, what a miracle drug that is. If you catch the flu early on and take this medicine it can alleviate the flu symptoms within a day. Britain had her last soccer game on Saturday and Lawson had his annual cub scout camp out. He got to go for the day but missed ot on the camping since it was a little too soon from his flu recovery. Our kitty Sasha is now officially an outdoor cat. As Britain told my mother "She broke the rules. She got three chances and she broke the rules." She has made some kitty friends and taken over our porch as her new palace. Lawson and I had a blast at his annual school carnival, the husky hoedown. There was a train ride, cotton candy and many fun games for all!

Fall Update

Both of the kids are in soccer and enjoying every game. Lawson is in cubscouts again and is now a wolf. Britain started pre K at Coleman's Childrens Academy and loves it. She has had the same boyfriend named Caleb for over a year. Such a funny girl. Lawson has NO INTEREST in girls, he would rather play his Nintendo DS game and catch Pokemon. I made him a Pikachu cake for his 7th birthday, it was quite the hit. Britain is still taking gymnastics at Durhams and is working on mastering a cartwheel. The kids and I got the Halloween decorations out a few weeks ago. OH WHAT FUN Halloween will be! The other day I asked Lawson what he wanted in his lunch and he replied "you mommy." He is such a jokester. He is enjoying first grade with Ms. Williamson. He is quite the classroom helper. I am so very proud and lucky to be their mother!

Lawson's Football 2009

What a go getter we were this year! Tackling would have to be Lawson's favorite thing! He had a great football season and we won two games and lost one. The funniest moment came when a very large kid on the opposing team tackled Lawson..ok that part wasn't funny but the next snap the kid came after Lawson again and Lawson ran...hes like your not gonig to get me again. He was fast and the kid couldn't catch him.. Lawson got into some pretty big tackle piles this year. I am so proud of him and his hard work.

7 years of amazement

Dear Lawson,

I cannot believe you are about to turn seven years old. Where has the time gone my sweet little boy? It seems just like yesterday I was waddling around in 120 degree weather looking as if I had swallowed a basketball awaiting your arrival. You, of course were stubborn like your mother and a late arrival. Your due date may have been the beginning of August but you had your own clock and held on until finally the doctor decided it was eviction time and scheduled an induction. You were such an easy pregnancy for me we spent our time swimming in the pool, attending concerts and eating as much watermelon as we could stand. The only strange craving I had with you was canned pears covered in chocolate hersheys syrup...strange I know but they tasted so good that first trimester. We wanted you to be a surprise so we weren't sure if you were going to be a boy or a girl but Grandma Julie called it from day one. Some how she knew you were a boy. Grandma's intuition? I was so determined to bring you into this world as naturally as I could. They called us in for an induction on the night of August 14th and I was in labor throughout the night and day on the 15th...drug free I might add :) .....and I pushed you for a good 2 1/2 hours but it wasn't meant to be and you arrived via c-section August 15th. I can still remember hearing your first cry it was such a strong cry for a first cry you were so not happy to be out of my tummy. I think I may have fed you too well....You were such a big strong boy and the nurses were all in love with you with your sprakling blue eyes ( yes they were blue your first year of life my dear) and your strawberry blonde hair. You were the happiest, easiest baby I have ever met. I still remember my Lawson alarm clock, most babies wake up for a feeding with a cry but you would just lay in your crib and pick up your legs and drop them making little thud noises until I came and picked you up and when it was time for food, you meant business! Your little face would hunker down and you would make the cutest little raccoon noises and nestle right in and suck that bottle down. You were such a joy and I learned so much from you and am still learning from you everyday. You may be all rough and tough little boy but you have the sweetest, nurturing helpful side I have ever seen. You are a true animal lover and so organized you would make Martha Stewart jealous! Some of my highlights of your last seven years:
Year 1: So much learning and bonding. You loved to be held and stay up until two in the morning babbling to yourself. Grandma and I called it the Lawson 2am - 10 am play time.
Year 2: Oh my balls were your favorite thing....it could be a football, soccer ball, tennis ball as long as it was something you could throw and play with you were a happy camper. You were so busy and active wanting to take a part and get into as many things as you could.
Year 3: The non stop question year. Everything was why? how come? but why mommy? You are so inquisitive and I adore that about you.
Year 4: This was the year that you knew EVERYthing...and started talking in third person.."Lawson likes to fish," Lawson this and Lawson that....you were already quite the avid traveler with two long distance car trips and many, many airplane rides. As long as you had a toy, your mommy by your side and a snack you were the best traveling companion ever!
Year 5: You learned so much this year and taught your dad and I so much as well. Every day you would come home from school with something new to teach us.
Year 6: Quite the little sportsman this year....Tball and fishing being your favorites. You are quite the speller and reader....but writing is by far your least favorite activity unless its writing about your pokemon captures!
I cannot wait for all of the special moments we will share in year 7!!!!!!!

Yes...the kids and I spent Friday dressing up like pirates and adorning our arms and various body parts with Batman temporary tattoos...Oh what fun we had! Lawson cleaned his room and Brit talked Lawson into helping her clean hers as well. We spent Sunday at the Springdale pool and had a blaast! Lawson is becoming quite the little swimmer! We are so blessed to have this time together! Oh and Britain and I are gonig to try and read all of the Pippie Longstocking books, I loved them as a girl..who doens't love a book about a girl strong enough to lift a horse with one hand?

Mid July Update

Oh my gosh...I am so excited for our weekend together......Lawson, Britain and mommy weekend woohoo! We are going to have a blast! Can't wait to set up our offical agenda after work. Lawson, you of course, can make the list of our weekend "must dos." I cannot wait to post all about our weekend! We are going to have a full bed tonight....all of us and Sasha in the middle! Oh and the kids and I bought those new popsicle slow melt Ice Age pops with the acorn in the middle....Brit and I refuse to eat them again but Lawson doesn't seem to mind the "ooey gooey slobbered up gummy acorn in the middle." They are itneresting by far the slow melt though is great since Brit loves to take her time savoring every bite and no drip!

The 4th of July

Oh my what fun the kids and I had Friday. We lit off some fireworks and made special fourth of July cupcakes. Britain's favorite fireworks are the small decorative ones, just like her mama! Lawson likes his fireworks big and loud. If most of you don't already know, I love Smart Water...its natural and so hydrating...well the other day at Lawson's tball game Brit poured out the smart water on the ground and I asked her "what did you do that for?" and she responded "now the ground is smarter mama." Also on Sunday Brit decided she wanted to quiz me and give me words to spell she was getting frustrated when I could spell all the words so she said " mom your too smart you're not allowed to drink smart water ANYMORE." So adorable! Lawson is really wnjoying his last week of tball, I think I may have a future ball player on my hands. Sasha (as Brit calls her)and (Miss Purrrrsia as Lawson calls her) has fit right into our family. She is a lot of fun for all of us with her loud meowing demanding that we pet and adore her. I got to see a fireworks show on Beaver lake this year, it was put on by Ventris Trail's End Resort...it was a great show!

Long awaited update

The kids have grown so much in the last few months. Lawson has started his second year of tball and is quite interested in it this year. Last year it was more about playing in the dirt but this year its about how many runs and outs that he can get. I must say my little "lefty" is quite the ball player! It has been a long and trying couple of months for our family. Sean and I are going through a divorce and the kids are spending half their time with me and half with him. It has been a big adjustment for all of us but it gets easier each week. I am on a path to complete recovery, living years in a state of depression isn't healthy for a person let alone a family. I find that I become stronger and the person that I once was each new day. The help from my parents, my closest thing to a sister, Sandra, my children, my best friend and also the lord has made my journey so much easier. It is so funny how people come into your life at the times that you truly need them. I am working with an amazing therapist that has been assisting me in my healing process. There are so many factors that can lead up to a depression and staying in situations where you are unhappy can lead to a domino effect and have your life spinning out of control. I will say if you are truly unhappy then you need to do something about it because just pretending isn't going to solve anything. You need to be treated and treat others with the same love and respect that we all need. There was a time where I felt trapped and completely hopelss, isolated from everyone that I hold dear and I almost lost myself completely but I survived and am so much stronger because of that. I am so lucky to have two of the smartest best looking kids I have ever laid eyes upon. I feel like God has given me a second chance at life, an opportunity for me to find true and complete happiness and to find a place where I belong. I never really felt that the passed few years. I felt an obligation to marry and that is never the right reason. The year 2009 has been the most difficult one in my life and ironically one of the best things in my life happened this year as well. I am truly blessed at this second chance from God and I cannot wait for what the future holds for our family. Myself, Lawson, Britain, Maverick, Kip and our newest addition Sasha, a persian kitten we rescued are enjoying every moment we have together.

Our weekend

We had a great weekend. Lawson and Brit spent the night with Nene and Poppy because Sean and I had to work early Saturday morning. Nene treated them to pizza and Lawson enjoyed a big salad and Brit her new favorite macaroni and cheese pizza. Since Sean and I were kid free we met up with my friend Missy and her boyfriend Matt and had dinner at Fusion 5 ( the old Shoguns in Fayetteville). The food is excellent, it is mostly sushi and Thai food. Then we traveled over to Fastlanes for some bowling and arcade games. Saturday after work we all took a nap. Working on a Saturday at JB Hunt really takes all the energy out of you! After that we hung out at home. On Sunday Sean went fishing and the kids and I went over to Matt’s farm and saw horses, pigs and miniature donkeys. It was a lot of fun. Missy also took Brit’s 4th year pictures out on the farm and I cannot wait to show them off! Lawson got a 100% on his spelling test again this week, he is quite the speller. We are still working on his handwriting but being younger and a leftie like his mom it is a bit of a challenge. Also, have you seen his mom and dad’s penmanship? HORRIBLE! Britain has managed to find herself a boyfriend at daycare so that has been interesting for sure. It has been a big adjustment having Grandma Julie go home back to Washington but we are getting back into our old routine.

Britain started Colemans Childrens Academy this week for play school and she loves it. She met a boy the first day and they are inseparable. Lawson is in Colemans before and after school program as well and enjoys all the fun he is having.

Ok onto my topic…I asked Miss Brit what she wanted for her birthday yesterday and she replied…
Brit: I want two fake dogs (We already have two real dogs)
Me: You mean more littlest pet shop ones? Or a stuffed one?
Brit: No the kind that are breakable and they are big and you sit them outside your front door

So she wants garden dogs how funny is that….and she wants to put them outside the house for everyone to enjoy. How sweet…I told her I would look for some but she should still expect a present she can enjoy. She wants one to look like Maverick and the other like Kip…So if anyone sees a St. Bernard or furry little white doggy garden statue please call me!

Britain's having a princess party on February 7th at 1:30 for her 4th birthday. She has requested that her girl guests dress up like any princess they choose and the boys can be princes or wear whatever they want...she only specified for the girls. There will be games, food and lots of fun.

A long awaited update

Let me first apologize as I have a lot of stuff to cover…..Ok so I have been MIA for too long…..I just seem to get busy with work or the kiddos and can’t find the time for my poor neglected blog. Let me catch everyone up to speed on our lives….Lawson received his bobcat badge for cub scouts. It was a grand ceremony with an Indian chief and they painted the boys faces with war paint. Brit decided to give herself a hair cut….luckily my best friend here is an amazing hair stylist and she came in on her day off and fixed Britain right up. Missy also found the time to make me a blonde again and I really like it….She is my favorite stylist ever….and the fact that she is an amazing friend, photographer, shopping buddy and confidant makes her even more fun. She works at Salon Professionals in Fayetteville. She books fast but if you want an amazing cut or color ask for senior stylist Missy. I was able to spend Christmas with both my parents for the first time in five years. It was amazing! We got to visit the lights at Silver Dollar City and even had time to take an old fashioned photo (the kids loved that) and it used to be a yearly tradition at the Carroll household growing up. Brit finished soccer and earned her first trophy, which she is very proud of! For Halloween we trick or treated around the neighborhood with Lawson as the Joker and Britain as a kitty cat or “cat woman” as she preferred to be called. “Aunt Missy” and Grandma Julie got to join in on the Halloween festivities. The other weekend I was lucky enough to be able to plan a Martini Party for my friend Missy. We had a great time the men had beer of course but the ladies enjoyed all different types of martinis. We had some great food and good laughs. I also got to try the new caffeinated vodka called P.I.N.K and it is really good! The price is a little high but it’s worth it the next day. Our fur babies, maverick and Kip, are doing well I cannot believe that Maverick will be two years old this spring. Lawson and Brit love to ride him around the yard. Santa was good to the kids this year bringing them both new bikes. Lawson’s most coveted gift was his pokemon and bakugon items and Brit’s a puppy that swims in the bath and walks on the ground when its not in water and it came with goggles (she fell in love with it from a commercial). My mom and I attended the Circle of Life Benefit dinner and we had an amazing time and even got to purchase some auction items with the proceeds all going to the Circle of Life. What an amazing thing they do not only for patients but the families as well. For New Years we stayed in and the kids and I made party hats for ourselves and Sean as well as my parents. Brit tried to make it to midnight but fell asleep about 10:00. Lawson stayed up and got to watch the “football” drop as he thought it was but after seeing it for the first time he learned it’s not a football at all. I think he was disappointed. We are looking forward to what 2009 shall bring!

Our first Cub Scout Campout

We survived our first cub scout camp out on the weekend of 10/24- 26th....and it was COLD. We arrived Friday night and Sean and I managed to put the tent up in the dark. Something I think is worth bragging about. We awoke Saturday morning to frost on our tent and covering the ground...it was VERY cold but Lawson never once complained about the cold weather...but mom sure did! I bought those handy coffees and hot chocolates at walmart that you just push the bottom up and they self heat..pretty neat idea they came up with! The festivities kicked off with a flag ceremony in the am and then the boys did a service porject for the Natural Falls state park which consisted of moving piles of sticks and limbs the park rangers had removed from the creek beds to a brush pile. Lawson was a trooper making many trips until the work was done. We had a nice picnic lunch and then we were off to shoot the rockets. Our rocket was bright orange and took a day or two to build but it was great fun! Lawson's rocket shot off into the air and he was able to chase it and recover it the first time....Daddy got it into his head that we should put a bigger motor in it and shoot it again...well..the bigger motor worked like a dandy and that rocket went the highest of them all but it did not return....my poor little tiger scout was heart broken. I could see his face turning red and his eyes welling with tears..Lawson said "why did dad have to shoot it again I wanted to keep it." We learned a hard lesson that day. 1. If you shoot it once and it comes back it may be best to call it a day. 2. Daddy isn't allowed to add bigger and better motors and finally 3. Build an extra rocket in secret and hide it in the car "just in case." After rockets there was a chariot race and Lawson got to be pulled in the chariot...I think that was his favorite thing. The day ened with singing some tiger scout songs and a nice group campfire.I will post some pictures tonight of the great fun we had! ***I forgot to add....We met some great friends at the campout. Sam and his dad Konrad, April, Marty and their boys Blake and Luke. We had a blast with you guys! I've got that tiger cub spirit....

Lawson started first grade this year and has turned into quite the speller. He also has a girlfriend though he is trying to not admit it. Some day you will look back on this and laugh my son but your dad saw you holding hands with her on your way out of school the other day....First you are getting love letters in Kindergarten and now girlfriends. I am amazed at how fast you are growing. You keep telling us that you want to be a scientist and you are obsessed with finding out how things work. I think you inherited your grandpa Rick's mechanical ability. I love listening to you and Britain play especially hearing you talk in third person calling yourself Bubby.. "Bubby wants to do this..." Now onto Britain....you have become so independent the last few months. You are loving everything Dora and keeping tabs on your grandma Julie. You are adamant about not wearing dresses I'm not sure if I put you in them too many times as a baby? I can usually coax you to wear a dress but it takes some heavy prodding for sure. Britain is still enjoying her weekly gymnastics class we are working on tackling the cartwheel at the moment. Our house is decorated for Halloween and the kids and I are counting the days to the best holiday of the year!

Hello everyone.....Sandra one of my dearest friend's inspired me to start a blog...and I made one just never added to it. Last weekend my friend Missy took some pictures of the kids at the park and they are adorable so I wanted to share them with everyone. We are doing well. Lawson just finished his first year of tball and football and Brit is still in gymnastics and starts soccer this week. She is beyond excited. Can't wait to share more exciting things with everyone!
